  7. Enter Vehicle Information

If you chose to ‘Add a New Vehicle’, you will be prompted to enter your vehicle’s details. The system requires information such as the license plate number, state of registration, vehicle make, color, and body style. Ensure accuracy for proper UCR transportation permit validation.

For vehicles with temporary paper license plates, it is crucial to enter the temporary number as the Vehicle License Plate and select ‘TEMPORARY PLATE’ as the Vehicle Plate Type. You must also enter the full VIN. If there’s no temporary number, use the last 8 digits of your VIN as the Vehicle License Plate, select ‘VIN NUMBER’ as the Vehicle Plate Type and enter the complete VIN.

IMPORTANT: Remember to update your permit with the permanent license plate information once you receive it.

After entering all vehicle details, click ‘Next>>’ to proceed.

    License Plate Entry Tips:

    • Omit spaces when entering your license plate number.
    • California passenger vehicles do not use the letters I, O, and Q in the second or fourth positions.
    • California commercial vehicles also exclude the letters I, O, and Q.
    • For personalized plates with fewer than seven characters or special characters (like hearts or stars), skip the special character and enter the remaining characters.
    • VINs do not include the letters O, I, and Q to avoid confusion with numbers 0, 1, and 9.
  8. Confirmation and Vehicle Deletion

Upon successful vehicle addition, a confirmation message will appear at the top of your screen, confirming your vehicle is now linked to your UCR transportation parking permit. To remove a vehicle, click the ‘Delete’ button next to the license plate. The ‘Delete’ option is only visible when two or more vehicles are associated with the permit. If only one vehicle is listed and you need to delete it, first add a new vehicle, and then you will be able to delete the original one.
