Traveling to Baha Mar with Your Canine Companion: What to Expect

Baha Mar warmly welcomes guests and their well-behaved canine companions. To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone, we have established a pet program with specific guidelines for dog owners. If you plan to bring your dog(s) to our resort, please inform the hotel at least three days prior to your arrival.

Baha Mar Pet Policy: Key Guidelines for Dog Owners

To participate in our pet-friendly program at Baha Mar, please take note of the following policies designed to ensure a comfortable stay for all guests, including your furry friends:

Size and Number Restrictions

We gladly accommodate dogs that are housebroken. For size limitations, we permit dogs weighing up to 50 pounds. Alternatively, guests may bring two dogs, provided their combined weight does not exceed 75 pounds. We allow a maximum of two dogs per guest room or suite.

Fees and Deposits

To maintain the pristine condition of our rooms and suites, a mandatory, non-refundable cleaning fee is applied to each stay. For stays of 1 to 6 nights, a fee of $250 will be assessed. For stays of 7 nights or longer, the fee is $300. Additionally, we require a credit card to be presented at check-in as a guarantee against any potential damages or soiling of carpets and soft furnishings within your room. Any damages beyond normal wear and tear will be billed accordingly based on the extent of the damage.

Emergency Contact and Kennel Option

For safety and communication purposes, we require pet owners to provide a cell phone number at check-in, allowing us to reach you in case of any emergency related to your dog. In extreme and unforeseen circumstances, it may be necessary to move your dog to a kennel for its well-being and the comfort of other guests.

Quiet Hours

To ensure a peaceful environment for all our guests, we kindly request that all dogs are settled and quiet by 9:30 pm each evening.

Restricted Areas for Pets (Except Service Animals)

While we love having your dogs as guests, please be aware that pets are not permitted in certain areas of the resort. These restricted areas include the golf course, all food and beverage outlets, the health club, and pool areas. This policy excludes certified service animals, which are always welcome to accompany their owners in all areas. It’s important to note the distinction: service animals are specifically trained to perform tasks for individuals with disabilities. Therapy and emotional support animals, while providing valuable companionship, do not qualify as service animals under this policy and are therefore not allowed in restricted locations.

Dog Walking Areas

For the convenience of pet owners and the comfort of all guests, dogs must be walked only in designated outdoor areas. Please inquire about the locations of these designated pet-walking areas upon check-in.

Noise and Disturbances

We are committed to ensuring a tranquil atmosphere for all our guests. Therefore, any excessive noise or disturbances caused by your dog must be curtailed promptly to maintain the comfort and quiet enjoyment of other guests.

Room Servicing

For the safety and comfort of both our staff and your pet, room attendants are not permitted to enter guest rooms while pets are unattended. Please contact housekeeping to arrange a convenient time for room servicing when you or another adult occupant can be present with your dog.
