If getting around is a challenge, our volunteer drivers can bridge that gap, providing a vital service when other transportation options are limited.

Free Rides for Seniors to Essential Destinations:

Our dedicated team of volunteer drivers provides complimentary transportation to a range of crucial locations, including:

  • Medical appointments: From routine check-ups to specialist visits and physical therapy sessions, we ensure you can attend all your health-related appointments.
  • Grocery shopping and food banks: Accessing nutritious food is essential. We provide rides to grocery stores and food banks, making healthy eating more accessible.
  • Senior centers and group activities: Stay socially connected and engaged by attending senior centers and group events. Our volunteers can get you there.
  • Pharmacies and other necessary errands: We also offer transportation to pharmacies and other essential destinations to support your daily needs.

Eligibility for Rider Services

To be eligible for Volunteer Transportation as a rider, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a resident of King County, Washington, aged 60 years or older.
  • Be able to enter and exit a standard private vehicle with minimal assistance.
  • Have limited access to other transportation options.

Important Ride Scheduling Information

Please take note of the following crucial information when scheduling your transportation:

  • Ride requests must be made by Tuesday for appointments in the following week.
  • Our scheduling hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
  • Caregivers or family members are welcome to accompany riders with prior notification.
  • Please have all your trip details ready when you call, including the date, time, duration, and exact locations.
  • All rides are subject to volunteer driver availability.
