Driver Requirements to Join Dana Transport Inc.
To be considered for a driving position at Dana Transport Inc., candidates must meet the following essential criteria:
- Experience: A minimum of one year of recent, verifiable experience handling and hauling liquid bulk chemical tank trailers is mandatory.
- Age: Applicants must be at least 25 years of age.
- Medical Certification: Candidates must pass a medical examination and be certified by a Dana Transport-recognized physician as physically fit to operate a commercial motor vehicle.
- License & Endorsements: Possession of a valid CDL-A with HazMat and Tank endorsements, coupled with 2 years of verifiable Over-The-Road (OTR) experience, is required.
- Equipment Installation: Drivers must be prepared to install a pump and compressor on their tractor within the initial 90 days of employment.
- Driving Record:
- No more than 2 minor moving violations within the last 36 months.
- No convictions for serious traffic violations in the past 36 months.
- Accident History: No more than one minor preventable commercial accident in the preceding 36 months.
- Substance Violations: No drug or alcohol-related convictions.
- Criminal Background: No felony convictions within the last 10 years, and absolutely no violent or drug/drug-related felonies.
- Safety Record: A driving and work history demonstrating a strong commitment to public safety is essential.
- Character: Candidates must possess a commendable safety and conduct record.
- Employment Stability: Preferably, no more than 3 employers in the last 36 months.
- TWIC Card: Must have a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
