Austin Independent School District (AISD) is committed to providing safe and dependable transportation for its students. Every day, approximately 23,000 students rely on AISD’s transportation services, utilizing a fleet of nearly 500 buses, all equipped with seat belts for enhanced safety. The mission of Aisd Transportation is to ensure students have a secure, reliable, and professional journey to and from school.
To locate your student’s designated bus stop, AISD offers a user-friendly online bus stop finder utility. This tool allows parents and guardians to easily identify the closest and most convenient bus stop by simply entering their home address. For optimal performance, accessing the bus stop finder from a desktop computer is recommended. When using the tool, input your address including the street number, street name, and abbreviated street type (e.g., St, Ln, Cv). If the system provides address suggestions, select the option that accurately matches your address and click “Accept.”
It’s important to remember that while students are riding or waiting for an AISD school bus, they are under the district’s supervision, mirroring the same level of oversight as when they are within the school building or on school grounds. Therefore, all students are expected to adhere to the Austin ISD student disciplinary policies during their bus journeys.
To stay informed about potential bus delays and route changes, it’s helpful to know that various factors such as weather conditions, traffic congestion, road closures, or unforeseen circumstances can sometimes impact bus schedules. AISD actively monitors over 370 bus routes daily and dynamically adjusts routes and bus assignments as needed to minimize disruptions.
