Secretary Perdue’s career is deeply rooted in public service at the FDOT, commencing with his participation in the Professional Engineer Training Program within FDOT District Three. Throughout his career, Secretary Perdue has undertaken diverse leadership roles, gaining exposure to nearly every facet of Florida’s vast transportation system and the communities it supports. His extensive background includes significant contributions to both operational and developmental aspects of transportation. He has served as the District Geotechnical Engineer, District Traffic Operations Engineer, and District Design Engineer, showcasing his versatile expertise. Furthermore, his experience spans various transportation modes, including involvement with space-related transportation initiatives, multi-use trails, and a notable tenure as CEO of SunRail, the Central Florida commuter rail system. Most recently, as department of transportation secretary, Perdue is at the forefront of executing Governor DeSantis’s ambitious Moving Florida Forward Infrastructure Initiative.
