Italian transport giant Lannutti Group is set to significantly enhance its operational efficiency and driver safety with a landmark order of 1,500 Volvo FH Aero trucks. Headquartered in Italy, Lannutti Group operates a vast fleet of over 2,500 trucks across eight European nations, working around the clock. This substantial investment in Volvo’s latest FH Aero model underscores Lannutti’s commitment to fleet modernization and sustainable transport solutions.
This major acquisition is part of Lannutti Group’s ongoing fleet renewal program, strategically designed to prioritize vehicles with reduced emissions and elevated safety standards. A key feature of this order is the inclusion of Volvo’s innovative Camera Monitor System across all 1,500 trucks. This cutting-edge technology replaces traditional side mirrors with cameras and in-cab displays, resulting in improved aerodynamics and enhanced driver visibility.
Valter Lannutti, CEO of Lannutti Group, emphasized the company’s core principles driving this investment: “The fleet renewal principle for us at Lannutti Group is to prioritize low emission vehicles while offering a high level of comfort and safety to our drivers, protecting them and all the other road users. In addition to the fuel saving I-Save technology already 100% adopted in the fleet we are now aiming to grasp the benefits coming from the Camera Monitor System and improved aerodynamic design. A significant portion of the ordered Volvo FH Aero trucks will be powered by Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO). This biofuel, derived from waste products, offers a substantial reduction in carbon dioxide emissions – up to 90 percent compared to conventional diesel. Lannutti Group’s adoption of HVO fuel further demonstrates their proactive approach to minimizing their environmental footprint and embracing sustainable transportation practices within their Italian and European operations.
