Transportation is available to facilities like Presbyterian Rust Medical Center in Rio Rancho for Bernalillo County residents. For return trips within the greater Albuquerque area, a “call when ready” system is in place until 5 p.m., and until 4 p.m. for the East Mountain/Cedar Crest area. Meal Site Transportation
Seniors looking to socialize and enjoy nutritious meals at senior centers can utilize dedicated meal site transportation. Pick-up services are available daily within a five-mile radius of all City of Albuquerque senior and multigenerational centers, as well as Bernalillo County meal sites. Transportation is also offered within a six-mile radius to Whispering Pines and Tijeras Senior Centers. To access meal site transportation, seniors can register directly at their preferred center.
On-Demand Shared Transportation for Errands
For non-medical errands such as grocery shopping or pharmacy visits, on-demand shared transportation is available. These rides can be requested up to three days in advance. This means that only the senior participant can schedule their own appointments. Please note that entities like medical facilities, doctor’s offices, case managers, or non-caregivers are considered third-party schedulers and are not permitted to book on behalf of participants.
