Joining the CFISD Transportation Team: Employment Requirements

To be considered for a position within the CFISD transportation department, applicants must meet the following essential criteria:
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Successfully complete an annual physical examination to ensure fitness for duty.
- Possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with all necessary endorsements and classifications, along with any other required licenses, permits, and certifications.
- Maintain a satisfactory driving record and criminal background, as determined by the Texas Department of Public Safety, reflecting the standards expected of a professional driver and meeting all applicable contractual, local, state, and federal regulations.
- Pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and be subject to random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing throughout employment.
- Have completed or be actively enrolled in the School Bus Driver Certification Course developed by the Texas Education Agency and the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Prospective CFISD transportation employees are required to participate in a personal interview as part of the application process.
