USC DART Transportation: Enhancing Campus Mobility for Students and Staff

DART (Disability Access Route Transit) transportation at the University of Southern California (USC) provides a valuable, complimentary service designed to improve on-campus mobility for students, faculty, and staff with temporary or permanent mobility limitations. This service operates exclusively on the University Park Campus (UPC) during the Fall and Spring semesters, offering convenient transit solutions from Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM.

Understanding the Dart Transportation Guidelines

It’s important to note the specific operational parameters of the DART transportation system. DART vehicles, which are golf carts, are designated for on-campus use only and are not permitted on city streets. Therefore, DART service is limited to the UPC campus and does not extend to off-campus housing, external parking facilities, or USC Village.

Users intending to utilize DART transportation should be capable of independently entering and exiting a standard golf cart. While DART drivers are committed to providing efficient transportation, they are unable to assist with lifting or carrying personal medical equipment such as crutches or wheelchairs due to liability considerations. However, recognizing diverse needs, a wheelchair-accessible golf cart option is available and can be requested when scheduling your ride.

Due to the high demand for DART services, maintaining punctuality is crucial. Drivers operate on tight schedules and can only wait for a maximum of five minutes beyond the scheduled pick-up time. If passengers are not present and ready at the designated pick-up location within this window, the driver may proceed to their next assignment. To ensure efficient service for everyone, please promptly cancel any unneeded rides by contacting the DART program in advance.

To maintain service effectiveness and availability for all users, DART service will be automatically discontinued after five consecutive missed pick-ups without prior notification. If DART transportation is no longer required, kindly inform the DART program at 740-3575 to be removed from the service schedule.

Requesting DART Transportation Service

To initiate a request for DART transportation and benefit from this helpful campus service, simply complete the DART program application. This online form is the first step to accessing convenient on-campus mobility assistance.
